About
We’re the people you call when you’ve decided your brand is going to dominate your category.
Not do a few nicer ads or see what happens if you up spend by 10%. The brands who work with us are planning to do 3-10x over the next few years and need operators who have made that happen again and again.
Built by people who have sat in your seat
Before Ballpoint, we were in-house. Founders, heads of growth, heads of creative. People who have run teams with a budget to meet, investors to answer to, and a cash runway to protect.
Our team has:
- Taken brands from zero to seven and eight figures.
- Argued for spend in rooms where the P&L had to make sense.
- Employed agencies that looked great in pitch decks and then shied away when things got tricky.
Ballpoint started because we knew first hand what ambitious brands need from agencies. Not the biggest promises, but a team who treats their business like it’s their own.
We’ve been on the receiving end of all the problems. So we became the solution.
Today, every Ballpoint strategist is ex-in-house senior talent. The people running your growth here are the people who used to hire agencies, not career account handlers learning on your budget.
Who we’re for
We provide best value to brands who:
- Have real product–market fit and a reason to exist.
- Are ready to scale hard and sustainably: not £50k this year, £65k next. Think £150k then £500k.
- Expect platform fit without losing brand identity, but aren’t precious when experimentation is required.
- Are bored of vanity ROAS, random testing, and decks that never quite match what’s live in the ad account.
- Want a partner who will pick a side: yours.
If that’s not you, we’re probably not the right fit. There are plenty of other agencies out there that offer something different, and you won’t struggle to find them.
What makes Ballpoint different
We regularly ask our clients what they wanted from their growth agency, and what it is about Ballpoint that made them choose us and stay. Three things stand out:
1. An agency built with in-house talent
We’ve done your job. That means:
- We think in revenue, margin and payback, not just ROAS. Contribution margin and incrementality are at the core of our approach.
- We understand fundraising cycles, retail launches, and internal politics.
- We know what “help” actually looks like when you’re scaling.
You don’t have to explain for us. We’ve been there ourselves.
2. Strategy-led creative with a sharp sense of tone
We start with your customer: jobs-to-be-done, motivations, objections, and the context of the scroll. We mine reviews, calls, and social comments to use their words, not ours, then build angles for each stage of awareness. Expect psychology-first strategy, built by social-native creatives, joined up with data that keeps profit in view.
Sometimes that’s a beautifully aesthetic film that could sit on your homepage. Sometimes it’s a scrappier, lo-fi piece that feels like something your customer would post or share.
The distinction:
- Your brand ads show you at your best.
- Your native ads feel like they belong in the feed, not in a brand book.
Both are intentional. Both are strategic. Neither will undermine the brand you’ve built.

3. An experiment engine built to compound
Most “testing” is just chaos in a spreadsheet
Ours is a left-brain/right-brain balance: creative, copy, and psychology paired with scientific process:
- Focus on bottlenecks. Almost every breakout comes from a single growth engine. We identify it and concentrate there.
- Set a clear north star. Active subs, CM3 or recurring revenue - we build the dashboard around what matters.
- Run weekly growth sprints: hypotheses → experiments → results that compound.
- Accelerate, then repeat. Break the ceiling, push incrementally each month, hit the next ceiling, and repeat.

Mother Root →
Non-alc pioneers Mother Root achieving 10× revenue in two years, from ~£1.9m (2024) to ~£5m projected for 2025, off the back of 1,500+ creative tests, cheaper top-of-funnel reach, and landing pages that lifted conversion by approximately 25%.

Thriva →
Health tech brand Thriva unlocking 7× ad spend year-on-year with approximately 6.5× new-customer revenue, achieved via cleaner data, quadrupling testing speed, and fresh creative built around real customer insights.

Yonder →
Challenger card Yonder growing spend from £0 to ~£70k/month in nine months by focusing on Meta, streamlining the path from ad to app, and rallying around direct, aggressive messaging.
How we work with you
When you work with Ballpoint, you can expect:
- A small senior team. You’ll know exactly who’s in your account, and they’ll know your numbers.
- Directness. If something won’t work, we’ll say so. If we think you should push spend, we’ll show you why.
- Ownership. We pick a side. We back your brand properly. We act like the growth team down the hall, not a friendly supplier.
- Clear-headed precision. Strategic thinking, sharp creative, transparent reporting.
